Colors of Fanø Workshop

A wonderful day focused on Fanø’s beautiful nature, yarn & colors.

We'll start off with a foraging walk in the area to gather our plants for dyeing. Along the way, we hope to catch a glimpse of the sheep that have provided the wool for us.

Once we are back, we’ll get the pots going – we will be dyeing a solid color, as well as exploring possibilities for creating speckled colors with natural dye materials.

Occasionally there may be some waiting time – we will use this time to talk about plants, colors, yarns & experiments. Feel free to bring a knitting project to keep your hands busy.

We have been allowed to use the dyeing space at Fanø Angus & Merino – very close to both the sheep & the nature providing wool & colors for our yarn.

We will be dyeing on Merino 8/2 from Fanø Angus & Merino. Each participant will receive 200g of prepared yarn. It will not be possible to bring your own yarn for dyeing.

The workshop is open to both beginners and experienced participants – the most important thing is curiosity & enthusiasm to explore Fanø’s nature, yarn & colors.

You should be reasonably mobile to join the foraging walk – alternatively, you can take a break while the rest of us go out to forage.

Registration is confirmed upon purchase, and payment is processed immediately. Cancellations are refundable up to 14 days before the workshop, with a 10% administrative fee deducted.

The workshop will take place with a minimum of 6 participants, with the registration deadline on 15/07/2026.
